About Dr. Anthony Frenette

Dr. Anthony Frenette is a seasoned security professional and master firearms instructor with more than 15 years of experience in protective services, law-enforcement training, and private security leadership. A U.S. Coast Guard veteran, Dr. Frenette has directed security operations for major institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and The Bridge North Texas, where he built and managed multidisciplinary teams, developed risk-management programs, and led emergency preparedness and response for large public facilities.

Anthony has extensive experience as an educator and curriculum designer. He has taught Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) courses at UT Southwestern’s Center for Brain Health, and developed and delivered specialized training for both the Dallas Police Department and Garland Police Department, creating custom course content to meet agency needs. His teaching emphasizes practical, real-world application and scenario-based learning.

At Lone Star Tactical Training Center, Dr. Frenette is responsible for curriculum design, instructor oversight, and full compliance with Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) standards. He holds multiple state-level instructor credentials, including Texas DPS License to Carry (LTC) Instructor, Texas Private Security Instructor (Levels II, III, IV), and Texas Department of Public Safety Firearms Instructor certifications.

Whether leading a License to Carry course, a women’s self-defense workshop, or an advanced tactical pistol class, Dr. Frenette blends extensive operational expertise with a commitment to safety, situational awareness, and professional instruction—ensuring every student leaves confident, responsible, and fully prepared.

Our programs are open to responsible U.S. citizens and legal residents who meet all state and federal firearm ownership requirements. Whether you’re a beginner or a law enforcement professional, we have a course designed for your experience level.

 No. Students may bring their own firearm or use one of our training firearms for most courses. Rental firearms are available with prior notice.

Bring a valid government-issued photo ID, eye and ear protection (if available), and 100–150 rounds of ammunition for firearms courses. Specific requirements are listed in your course confirmation email.

Range sessions are available by appointment only. Simply click “Reserve Now” or contact us directly. Walk-ins are not accepted for safety and scheduling reasons.

Most classes include a live-fire component. Introductory or classroom-based sessions may focus on safety, handling, and situational awareness before advancing to live fire.

Yes. All License to Carry (LTC) and security training programs meet or exceed Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and TCOLE standards.

Absolutely. We offer one-on-one coaching, private group sessions, and corporate or agency training programs tailored to your needs.

Students must be at least 18 years old for most firearm training. Minors may attend select safety courses with parental consent and supervision.

Cancellations made 48 hours before a scheduled class may be rescheduled without penalty. No-shows or late cancellations may forfeit deposits.

Yes. We’re proud to offer specialized women’s self-defense workshops and family firearm safety classes designed to promote confidence, safety, and preparedness.
